What`s my reason to be active?

Lately I asked myself the same question from post headline. Why? What is the reason, I´m active? It would be much easier not to find ways to train and not to have an headache with nutrition and going to the gym early in the morning. Took some time to think and I got the answers. I´m a father of two sons and a daughter, so I just have to be a role model to them. of course, there are more reasons, about You can read below 🙂

Being a role model

It`s a known fact, that what children see, children do. If I would be a couch potato with growing beer belly, would eat fast food and drinking soft drinks full of sugar, then my words about eating eggs and porridge for a breakfast and avoidance of sweets and fizzy soft drinks would not matter as much, when I have the same approach to nutrition. And advocating about benefits of training, when You don´t train? Would also have less scale compared to situation, when You`re physically active.

My older son is old enough and makes his own decisions, however I´m really glad, that he is having soccer training and he listens to my advise regarding nutrition. If possible, we go to gym together, but currently he lives far away from me (about 20 hours driving) and unfortunatly we can`t hit the gym together as often we would like. Daughter is having gymnastics training and it`s visible, that it pays off. It gives her great posture and some lessons of discipline. Our youngest one, the 10-months old guy, doesn`t train yet :). Main training for him is to learn how to walk. Of course we play with him, in order to support his muscles development process.

What else is giving me motivation to be active

All mentioned above is just a tip of an iceberg, why I want to be in good physical shape. One “bonus” being active physically, is also being mentally in better shape. Higher resistance to everyday stress etc, but this also isn`t one of the main reasons, to be in great shape. As mentioned in the beginning, I´m a father of three in the age of 37 and right now it`s the latest time to take care of my health. In ten years from now, I might become a grandfather and wouldn`t be it great to play around run around with small miracle without loosing Your breath. At the same time my daughter will graduate from high school and my youngest one needs a parent, who could have strength and stamina to run with him and play ball 🙂

Looking even further. When I´m 60, my youngest one should graduate university. In this time horizon is even more important to keep myself in shape, having good coronary health to be at his side in full power, when he graduates. So as an answer to the question – I as a father have responsibility for all my three kinds to be a role model and to be active with them.

My dear spouse

My dearest wife, to whom I say it maybe not so often, is also a big motivator to me. Now it`s in the internet and I´m trying to improve myself. She is cooking all the time, baring in mind our families health. I even don`t remember when it was last time, when any of our meals wasn`t made from scratch. Additionally, She is preparing so tasty meals, that eating healthy is never boring 🙂
